Teaches Piano and Voice (habla español)
Has taught at California Keyboards since 2001
Has an Associate of Arts degree in Music from Bakersfield College; studied under Professors Howard Quilling, Dale Brooks, Robert Olivares, and Chuck Wood
Participated in Bakersfield College Choir with Masterworks Chorale in the original “King of Glory” Pageant and other various BC choir performances in San Francisco, CA and Northern CA
Is a member of South Valley Sound, the local Chapter of Sweet Adelines International, which is a professional a cappella female chorus
Vocal emphasis is on hymn interpretation, gospel jazz, Spanish Ballads, and Mariachi
Has served as Music/Choral Director for a bilingual church and Church Pianist/Accompanist; is currently pianist for Central Baptist Church
Classically trained in piano; places strong emphasis on Music Theory, Sight Reading and Technique, Fingering Skills, Ear Training, Music Appreciation, and improvisation for more advanced students
Student’s ages range from 5 years to Senior Citizens;
accepting students now for late afternoons and Saturdays
“It is my goal that each student develops a love for music whether learning piano or any other instrument.
I continually encourage students to learn other instruments or voice and many have with some moving on to win competitions in both piano and voice.”
